It's been too long, friends, it's been too long.
B.O.B. should be considered on "indefinite hiatus," but I wanted to check in after actually getting
to attend the match last night.
Briefly on the match: awesome. Not awesome? Um, fights in parking lot 8 for no apparent reason, as
well as some questionable handling of security in that the Chivas fans were definitely not treated
as equal when it came to breaking up a fight in the seats immediately after the game.

A new job, moving, and David Beckham are making this summer complicated.
The Ben Olsen's Beardship winner will still recieve a t-shirt.
BOB future cloudy, ask again later.
See you Thursday(?)

As the fantasy race heats up, we've re-branded our MFLS division into the newly-formed Ben Olsen's
Beardship!
Also, you'll notice the league table has been updated, as AU Eagles hold a slight lead over Karma's
Revenge. Brad Davis and Michael Harrington are really getting it done for the Eagles, while Karma
(or the "Karma Police," as we sometimes call them in the privacy of our own home) have been riding
a wave of Emilio, Juan Pablo Angel, and Andy Dorman.

We know we've been a bit remiss in the posting lately, but that's why there's so many other good
places to read about United. (Note: we were just going to do that thing where each word of "so many
other good places" was a different link to a DCU blog, but you know what they are by now, and if
you don't, they're over there--->).
Let's talk briefly about three things that scare us about this abrupt speedbump in the unbeaten
streak.

Apparently we played the Fire pretty well on Saturday night, but we wouldn't know anything about it
since our complicated religion is intolerant of HDNet. Heck, Matty Pickens even surrendered the 3
goals we predicted.
QuarterVolley and D make a good point about the "goals after goals" disease, which United seems to
be really prone to in the last 4 or 5 years.

It's time once again to take a look ahead at our next opponent, which we've done so far this year
with mixed results. Since you can get a great match preview from at least 3 or 4 other blogs, we've
decided just to give up and try and sum up this match through the songs of Chicago-based rock and
roll champions Wilco. Here's a little mixtape, from us to you.

So, we updated the MFLS table, with AU Eagles taking the 1 point leap over Karma's Revege to take
home the (now surely invaluable) Ben Olsen t-shirt. We're hanging in there in 11th, but not doing
such a great job checking our squad. Why can't fantasy MLS be like fantasy NFL? Anyone want to work
on this for next year?
Also we updated a ton of links.

One of these Pennsylvanians is a (recently) prolific goal-scorer. The other is a habitual
goal-allower. Can you guess who is who?
In the aftermath of THE HAT TRICK, we look at Boswell and the DCenters' plea for Benny's MLS Goal
of the Week Award...which he done gotz! Obviously Benny was also the MLS Player of the Week. Once
again young Benny, well done.

Some choice quotes from the announcer on the MSG network (who refuses to call Fred, just
"Fred"):
-"A signature game from one of the hardest-working players to play for the United States and D.C.
United."
-"I'm going to call Ben Olsen just 'Ben' before I start calling Fred da Silva 'Fred.'"
-"We should start calling Ben Olsen 'Ronaldinho.

As a great deal of our focus has been placed on the USMNT during this busy season of friendlies
against Red China and beatings on lowly CONCACAF opponents in la Copa Oro, our attention shifts
(right after this Trinidad and Tobago match) to the first leg of the 2007 Atlantic Cup.
We're reminded of a meeting that occurred between these two sides on a blustery Saturday last
October, where we made the pilgrimage from our humble headquarters in Queens out to Giants Stadium,
witnessing, along with 8,000 of our closest friends, a somewhat unspectacular United win.

*We're usually opposed to animated GIFs, but hey, never say never.
*Um, guess we missed this? Looks like he's going to RBNY now?
*WVHooligan with a good set of Cliff Notes for each team's '07 campaign.
*Ben Olsen declines to be interviewed by Boswell again (can you really blame him?).
*Much like us, Rod is back.

Well, we've returned. Where were we? A little bit of everywhere. Were we drunk? A little, but
perpetually so. Back to business, just in case you, like us, have been away from a computer and
making questionable decisions for two weeks...
Down old South America way:
United accepts an invite to Copa Sudamericana (that's "South American Cup" for you gringos) and we
agree wholeheartedly with Senor Gomez and Benny: "It's a great chance for us to further D.

Ben Olsen's Beard will be traveling to the Isle of Incommunicado for a week. Hopefully when we
return, United will be three points prettier, ready to take on fellow late registrants to the
playoff race, Houston. Take care of yourselves!

We recently sat down with the original gansta of the DCU-blogging scene (which is kind of a
specific scene, when you really think about it), D of the DCenters. A much more active blog than
this one, The DCenters (pronounced "Dee-centers") is the variable catch-all for relevant DCU news
and analysis. We were curious about how this one-consonant-wonder sees the DCUniverse, Kei Kamara's
digital dominance, and Ben Olsen's browsing habits.
