The Rochester Lancers took their motto "Honoring our past, Building the future" to the extreme in their home opener Saturday, bringing back original team members, unveiling their retro logo on the field, and even dropping their first home game just as they did 44 years ago.

Buzz Carrick, MatchNight in Dallas - So that's about it. The USL/MLS challenge hosted by the Puerto Rico Islanders has come to an end with LA sweeping their two games and FCD going one and one. Primarily a reserve unit played in the first game against the Islanders and the senior squad took care of Rochester in the second match. At this point the preseason is effectively over with only the game against Atletico Paranaense remaining, which is not really a friendly as it's the second leg of the USA-Brazil Challenge.

Dan Gaichas, MatchNight in Chicago - An Eric Vasquez goal in the 19th minute was all the USL-1 side needed to defeat the Fire, 1-0.

Scott Viar, MatchNight in America - Heading into 2007, the United States National Team's most talented player (and the one with the biggest expectations placed upon him) had not scored in the Stars-and-Stripes in eighteen months. How things have changed in the new year.
