Beasley makes appearance in Rangers victory

2009 has not been the kindest year to DaMarcus Beasley, but the midfielder's appearance in Rangers' 2-1 victory on Saturday was a step in the right direction.

Beasley came off the bench at halftime in Rangers' league match against St. Mirren, marking the first time Beasley has seen the field in league play this season.

Standing on a rooftop overlooking the site of the Philadelphia Union's future stadium, I couldn't help but see the pieces being put into place for a club that should help revitalize soccer on the East Coast.

As cranes lowered ten-ton cement blocks into place to piece together the Union's stadium, you could stand inside the unfinished building and see the vision.

Big East Quarterfinals: A Look Ahead

The Big East happens to be an earlier starter when it comes to the postseason tournament. The first round took place midweek, and while it's too early to pronounce some of the results as upsets, DePaul managing to squeak into the quarterfinals comes as a slight surprise -- the Demons drew 2-2 at Georgetown before winning on penalties.

Report: Agbossoumonde to Sporting Braga (UPDATED-Talks underway, no deal yet)

U.S. U-20 national team defender Gale Agbossoumonde could be the first member of the U.S. Under-20 World Cup team to score a move to Europe after the tournament.

According to this report out of Portugal, Agbossoumonde, who currently plays for Miami FC in the USL, is expected to join Sporting Braga on loan on Nov.

TGIF: Are small rosters hurting top MLS teams?

Friday is here and we are faced with the somewhat surprising reality that the first team eliminated from this year's MLS playoffs is the defending MLS Cup champion Columbus Crew. You can complain all you want about the playoff format, and the fact that Real Salt Lake barely edged its way into the playoffs, but RSL played great soccer when it mattered most, while the Crew bumbled and stumbled to the finish line and ultimately paid for its inconsistency.
