Portland Timbers and D.C. United play to 1 all draw in a match that features just about everything

The Portland Timbers had a home match against D.C. United to finish out their September schedule, marking the only time in the 2012 schedule that these two teams would meet because of the unbalanced schedule. After some flat play in the first half, D.C. United converted a questionable penalty kick into goal in the 60th minute but Bright Dike leveled the score at the 79th minute to allow Portland to secure a point by virtue of a 1-all draw.
