In the final Cascadia Cup match in Portland for the 2012 MLS season, the Portland Timbers had a chance to secure the Cascadia Cup with a win over their heated rivals, Seattle Sounders FC. The team's task was made more difficult with an injury to starting goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts and a goal after the keeper change by Sounders FC forward Fredy Montero, but the Timbers showed incredible maturity to tie the match behind a Rodney Wallace header.
