Only ten months after the first ball was kicked in a top-tier professional soccer league since 1984 a class action suit was filed against Major League Soccer. Fraser v. Major League Soccer, L.L.C., 284 F.3d 47 (1st Cir. 2002). One author called this case a rite of passage for the new league.
