Latics boss slams Spurs defender

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez was left furious when Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto was allowed to remain on the pitch despite a high tackle that forced forward Franco Di Santo out of the Latics' 3-1 defeat at White Hart Lane.

With his side firmly rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, the only positive Martinez could reflect on was the mild nature of Di Santo's injury.
