2012 U.S. Open Cup undergoes dramatic format changes, Timbers and Timbers U-23 qualified
15The United States Soccer Federation unveiled huge changes with the 2012 U.S. Open Cup tournament that greatly alters the field. All U.S. based teams of MLS, NASL and USL Pro qualify for the tournament and join the schedule in later rounds, while the amateur levels will play the opening rounds for advancement.
