US Open Cup Competition Changes for 2012

The US Open Cup will have a slightly different format this year:

The biggest news is expanding the field to 64 teams, making it the largest in a modern era that started in 1995 (previous: 42 in 2005-06). That's an increase of 24 teams from last year and all professional clubs from the top three tiers of U.
