It has been more than 15 months since Gary Parkinson suffered a massive stroke that means the only way he can communicate is by blinking his eyes. Parky was in charge of youth development at Blackpool after a career that had taken him to Bloomfield Road via spells at Everton, Middlesbrough, Southend, Bolton, Burnley and Preston.
