Portland Timbers announce official date for home opening match in March 2012
While we don't know the full 2012 schedule for the Portland Timbers, we do know when JELD-WEN Field will host its first match of the 2012 regular season. The Timbers will face an unnamed opponent as part of the Week 1 schedule on Monday, March 12. It's expected this is due to the new TV package between MLS and NBC Sports Channel to allow the game to be broadcast nationally, but full details will be released soon.
