Tim Gudgin, the voice of the football results, will fall silent after his recital of the classified check shortly after 5pm today. And for generations who grew up listening to Gudgin pronouncing football, rugby and horse racing's unpronounceables, the soundtrack to Saturday afternoons will never be the same again.
