Shimizu S-Pulse (清水エスパルス ) is a professional Japanese soccer club based in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka. S-Pulse currently competes in the J. League Division 1 (J1). The team was in the news earlier this year for signing former Sweden and Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg following his stints in MLS and with Celtic.
