Accrington v Tranmere abandoned after head injury

A scarier kind of Cup knockout The Johnstone's Paint Trophy match between Accrington Stanley and Tranmere Rovers was called off last night when Stanley defender Tom Bender suffered a head injury. The 18-year-old was knocked unconscious in a collision with his goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and Tranmere striker Lucas Akins.
