Hammers clinch sweet deal
West Ham United have announced the emergency signing of Arsenal's back-up goalkeeper Manuel Almunia as a replacement for first-choice stopper Robert Green, who will be sidelined for almost six weeks due to a knee injury.
Almunia, who currently ranks third in the Gunners' pecking order behind the Polish duo of Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski, will be on loan at Upton Park for a month and Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has expressed his gratefulness to the North London outfit for approving the deal.
