A stoppage-time penalty awarded to Fluminese in their clash with Atletico Paranaense, which they converted to earn a 1-1 draw, set off a chaotic end to the highly-charged Brazilian league game.
After the referee blew the final whistle, a section of the Atletico crowd gathered around the entrance to the dressing rooms, and had to be kept at bay by rifle-wielding police, who, according to a number of reports, fired rubber bullets at the protesting fans.
