We gave you the full overview of Liverpool's imposing new defender on Friday, but issues with securing the work permit and that Nacional representatives flew to England to complete the deal delayed his official signing. An hour ago, Uruguayan sources with contacts in the Coates camp announced he had signed and was having his picture taken with a Liverpool shirt, and thirty minutes later Luis Suarez beat the official site to the punch by announcing on Twitter and Facebook that his friend Coates had indeed signed before quickly realising it hadn't been officially announced yet and taking it down.
