MLB Angels' Weaver Takes the Money While He Can


Jered Weaver, pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, signed a 5-year contract extension worth 85 million dollars this past week to continue his sojourn with the Angels. The story of Weaver's signing was significant beyond just the typical inflated, humongous, ridiculous salary. It's interesting because of why he signed now, instead of waiting until the end of his other contract in 2012, in order to test the free-agent market.
