Shamrock Rovers Re-Write Irish History After Reaching Group Stages of Europa League
Airtricity League champion's Shamrock Rovers have re-wrote history after beating Partizan Belgrade 2-1 in Belgrade tonight after extra-time.
Having drawn the 1st leg in Tallaght 1-1 last week, it looked like Rovers were down and out when Partizan took the lead in the 35th minute, however Pat Sullivan struck a 30 yard volley on the hour mark to draw Rovers level on aggregate before sending the keeper the wrong way for Rovers 112th minute winning penalty to give the Irish side their biggest European win in Irish soccer history.
