Portland Timbers grind out result, beat Cascadia rival Vancouver 2 to 1
The Portland Timbers didn't play the best soccer against the Vancouver Whitecaps on August 20, but they took advantage of opportunities and gutted out a 2 to 1 win over their Canadian Cascadian rivals. Coach John Spencer called the win "a real test of character", but the Timbers can't rest on their laurels with a midweek match against Chivas USA looming.
