Reds close in on massive signing

Liverpool have announced on the club's official website that Newcastle United left-back Jose Enrique is traveling to Merseyside for a medical as the two clubs have reached an agreement over the player's transfer fee.

Enrique, who joined the Magpies from La Liga outfit Villarreal in 2007, has been on the Reds' radar for quite a while now along with Germany international Marcell Jansen and FC Porto's Alvaro Pereira.
