9th of July 2006. The fact that we won the World Cup meant very little to me, it was the way in which we won that made us special.

The cancer that still is Calciopoli had just been let loose. Italian football was entering a very dark place. Corruption and fraud were a common sight. Yet for one day we managed to win by overcoming our difficulties.
