On Wednesday evening, the long-awaited first installment of the new NASL Florida derby kicked off, as the Fort Lauderdale Strikers hosted FC Tampa Bay. Both teams came away with a point in a 1-1 tie. In Montreal, interim Coach Nick De Santis, replacing Marc Dos Santos after his resignation earlier this week, guided the Impact to a scoreless draw with the 2010 D2 champion Puerto Rico Islanders.
