Ireland’s Conor Niland to End 27 Year Wimbledon Wait
Ireland's Conor Niland will end a 27 year wait for an Irish Competitor at the Wimbledon Men's Championship tomorrow, when he plays Frenchman Adrian Mannarino withaplace against 6 times winner Roger Federer awaiting the winner in the second round of England's premier tennis event.
However Niland (29) has a long way to go to emulate Helena Rice and Harold Sigerson Mahony the only two Irish winners of the Wimbledon Championship way back in 1890 and 1896 respectively.
