Bittersweet draw shows Timbers what they’re capable of
PORTLAND, Ore. - It was shaping up to be quite the night for Portland Timbers defender Kevin Goldthwaite.
He had scored the go-ahead goal Sunday against the first-place New York Red Bulls - his former team, which cut him last season - and his new club was about to come away with its first victory since May 21 to the delight of a delirious crowd at JELD-Wen Field.
