Europe: Ventspils pay the penalty as Skonto win Baltic League
Skonto Riga finally won the Triobet Baltic League for the first time in the club's history yesterday defeating compatriots and host club FK Ventspils in a penalty shoot out after the match had finished 1-1 in extra-time.
FK Ventspils were the defending champions of the tournament, having won the 2010 final in exciting circumstances against Lithuanians FK Ekranas, and were hoping to become the first club to successfully defend the title.
