Gold Cup 2011: USA defeats Canada 2-0

The United States opened their 2011 Gold Cup campaign with a convincing 2-0 win over Canada in from of 28,209 at Ford Field in Detroit. The USA came out determined from the get go, using the long ball early on and completely dominating the midfield with a tireless work rate. Canada had nothing to offer in response as the US imposed their will over the Canucks and broke through in the 15th minute thanks to a Jozy Altidore strike.
