Who likes goals?

The Distracter wants me to try The Mentalist. I said it sounds like an Aldi brand, unfunny Psych and she only likes that 'coz Shawn and Gus are on offseason hiatus. We exchanged Bronx cheer faces, nothing was solved. Any reviews of this show out there? If you have one that solidly backs my position of stubbornness, even better.
