Elbows, Shoves, & Leg Breaking Tackles

There must be something in the water. Is it me, or has there been some atrocious refereeing as of late? Rooney's elbow on James McCarthy, Carragher's tackle on Nani, Bramble's two handed shove on Arshavin, and Busacca's second yellow card on Van Persie – all examples of terrible refereeing over the last week or so.
