The USSF sanction reaper
By now you may have heard about how the USSF refused to sanction the NASL as the men's Division II league in the United States in 2011. Kind of like how changing the MLS schedule is off the table. Funny how that happens. For a truncated history of the NASL split from USL, wikipedia is as good a place as any to bring you up to speed.
