Why playmakers aren't just central players anymore
I had written an article a couple of months back about the concept of the #10 now playing in a
wider role on the field, and how that was illustrated by the number of players who traditionally
played in that #10 role that were stationed out wide during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Sounder at Heart had a recent article on how Steve Zakuani has become the Seattle Sounders' most
important attacking player from his wide role.
