Sunderland In Talks To Sign David Miliband
By Chris Wright
Yep, you heard/read that right. Sunderland's big-name January signing is looking likely to be none other than the former Foreign Secretary David Miliband who is, if memory serves, a staunch Gooner by trade.
After losing out to his younger brother, 'Red' Ed Miliband, in the race for the Labour party leadership, it seems as though Miliband the elder is now on the verge of joining chairman Niall Quinn on the Black Cats' board in a non-executive, vice-chairman capacity that will see him focus on both the club's international and community work in return for £50,ooo a year.
