Rio Ferdinand’s Brilliant Disciplinary Record
Rio Ferdinand's last yellow card, for both club or country, came on March 14th 2009, during our 4-1 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford for a foul on Dirk Kuyt.
That's 53 appearances and 4515 minutes of football with a yellow card.
Whilst some of this might be down to his status as England captain (don't forget he escaped a booking for giving away this foul on Jerome Thomas a denying a goalscoring opportunity) we shouldn't discount Rio's excellent positioning which means he isn't required to make the last ditch tackles that Jamie Carragher and John Terry are hailed for.
