Dax McCarty finished the 2010 season as a member of MLS Cup finalists FC Dallas. On Monday, he was included in the list of players available for the expansion draft. On Wednesday afternoon, he briefly became a member of the Portland Timbers. Later that day, Portland traded him to DC United for Rodney Wallace and a 4th round 2011 SuperDraft pick.
