The Philadelphia Union continue to build an impressive player development pyramid, closing the gap between its Reading United AC partnership and the "big club" with the addition of the Harrisburg City Islanders to the fold. A professional squad based in the third tier of American soccer, Harrisburg has seen relationships with Major League Soccer teams come and go but this is a formal exclusive partnership establishing the City Islanders as a Philadelphia Union feeder club.
