Jose Mourinho and Inter Milan won the first leg as they beat Carlos Ancelotti's Chelsea team 2-1 in the first leg of their Champions League tie.

Milito set the San Siro alight with a third-minute goal but Chelsea responded strongly and, after Didier Drogba had been denied by the crossbar, Salomon Kalou levelled six minutes into the second period.
