An early goal by Ronaldinho put United under the gun as AC Milan poured on the pressure. Ronaldinho, Antonini, and Huntelaar could have doubled the lead but all missed golden chances.

They were made to regret it when Scholes scored a fortunate goal in the 36th minute and United turned the tides in the second half.
