City win the battle but not the war

Carlos Tevez earned Manchester City an ill-deserved victory over Manchester United in the first leg of the League Cup semifinal but United are still well fancied to progress in the return leg given their dominance in the majority of the first leg. Both sides have problems and without Tevez and Rooney both sides would look quite average.
