The Filibuster Flap
I remember back in 2005, when former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist was proposing the nuclear option, which would have eliminated the filibuster, to push through President Bush's judicial appointees. Those of us on the left were genuinely outraged by this, which would have given the Republicans absolute power, not just on judges, but on all legislation.
