Messi, Marta are the World Players of the Year
Barcelona has won an unbelievable six trophies in the span of a year and they have Lionel Messi to thank for that achievement. Messi won FIFA's World Player of the Year award on Monday. Last year's winner was Cristiano Ronaldo. There were questions asked of Messi's form for Argentina since they had a difficult time trying to qualify for the World Cup.
