Lionel Messi wins 2009 Ballon d’Or by record margin
Lionel Messi has won the 2009 Ballon d'Or by a landslide on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. He's the first Argentinian to win the award and had 473 out of a possible 480 votes to win the award. The Ballon d'Or is given by the France Football Federation and is for the best player in the European leagues.
