How Not to Strike a Penalty
Bradford's Gareth Evans strikes a fan on Saturday, not the back of the net
I'm always amazed at the number of penalty misses we see on the professional level, week in and
week out. Last night for example, US star Landon Donovan skied his PK over the bar in the MLS Cup
Final.
I understand the emotional difficulty, the tension and stress, and that the crowd sometimes plays a
big part - but I simply feel that a success rate of 71% (World Cup penalty kick success rate) is
too low.
