El gol del año de la MLS fue el de Landon Donovan
A pesar de que miles de salvadoreños votaron por el gol de Arturo Alvarez (San Jose Earthquakes) como el mejor del año 2009, no fue el ganador del premio AT&T que otorga todos los años la MLS. El premio fue para Landon Donovan, del Galaxy, por su gol realizado al Revolution.La MLS no ha dado los computos finales, pero el gol del salvadoreño había quedado entre los diez mejores.
