The most competitive of the opening round first-legs happened at the Home Depot Center on Sunday. Maicon Santos had Chivas USA up four minutes in, but LA drew even when Mike Magee scored in the 14th. Landon Donovan gave the Galaxy the lead in the 41st, and that held through halftime. The only goal of the second-half came early, with Maykel Galindo equalizing for Chivas USA in the 50th-minute.
