Last Minute Heroics Earn Simley Spot in State Soccer Tournament Semifinals
(18-1-4) Simley Spartans 2 – 1 Austin Packers (14-6-0)
With 11:29 left to play in the first half and after dominating most of the game, the Simley Spartans were fouled in the Austin penalty box and a spot kick ensued. Senior forward Ben Royce stepped up and hit a solid shot into the upper right corner of the net and past Packer goalkeeper Ryan Rasell.
