Watching Roy talk about 3-5-2 and the limitations of three centre-backs, he starts talking about why three centre backs sometimes don't want to leave the middle of the field. He notes that these players are good headers of the ball, good tacklers, etc, but they are often reluctant to get out on the flanks where they have to face.
