Man United, Chelsea win opening Champions League matches
.Leading English Clubs Manchester United and Chelsea won their opening Champions League encounters against Besiktas and FC Porto respectively. The reigning Premier League Champions had to fight their way around Besiktas as they won 1-0. Paul Scholes was the saviour for the day as he scored the lone goal in the 77th minute.
