I was in London the day after England crushed Croatia 5-1 in Wembley, on two goals by Frank Lampard, two by Stephen Gerrard and one by Wayne Rooney. The atmosphere was understandable extatic as England thus made sure that with wight consecutive victories in the World Cup qualifying Group 6, they are now sure to be going to South Africa.
