Telegraph Sport can reveal that Spurs are trying to sign Anton Ferdinand from Sunderland.
The 24-year-old central defender has been tracked by Spurs for some time – they attempted to sign him when he was at West Ham – but he chose to move to Sunderland for £8 million.
