American Abroad: Dempsey Hits In Europa Qualifying

Clint Dempsey's 51st minute goal in Fulham's 3-1 win over Amkar Perm was the highlight of American involvement in the Europa Cup on Thursday. Andrew Johnson had the opener in the 4th minute and Bobby Zamora got the thid in the 77th before Vitali Grishnin ruined the shutout in the 77th. Fulham lost Johnson to injury for what turned out to be a dislocated collar bone.
